Sons Of Morpheus – March 2016 – Newcastle Think Tank – REVIEW and PHOTOS

Sons Of Morpheus – 23rd March 2016 – Newcastle Think Tank

By Gordon Armstrong (G’s Gig Shots)

2016 Tour support for Karma To Burn, this 3 piece from Switzerland have all kinds of styles going on but they never sound cluttered or messy. Best way to describe them is a bluesy tripped out jam! There are elements of Hendrix and Cream in the playing but also at times singer Manuel Bissighas a touch of Brandon Boyd going on as well.

The rhythm section of Lukas Kurmann – Bass; Rudy Kink – Drums feed off each other brilliantly letting Manuel riff and wail to his hearts content. Some of the songs are pretty standard blues rockers but check out album and set closer ‘Psilocybin‘ for a 10-minute wig out that just builds and builds to a perfect ending of feedback and “goodnight!”.

Give ’em a listen or better still go see ’em live!
