Tide of Iron, Silent Front and Action Beat
Northumberland Arms 23rd August 2014
Found out about this show very last minute. Tide of Iron is hands down the most awesome band I’ve come across in my years as a music photographer. Having first stumbled on them supporting Unsane a couple of years back, I was addicted. I’d been informed that they are sadly calling it a day, their last show will be back in the Northumberland Arms on 19th Sept 2014. That’ll be one for the history books. Check out their Sow EP on Bandcamp, it’s rather bloody good!
Tonight they open up for a couple of cracking bands Silent Front and the (literally) colossal Action Beat. Both utterly fantastic bands. The Silent Front album has been getting quite some play this week, got a McLusky/Fugazi vibe going on, love it! Action Beat were tricky to photo due to size of the band and audience, so not so many pics as I was just in the way, which can be annoying so I just did one song.
The Northy has no stage lights as such, so I had to improvise with some cool long exposure techniques.
Special thanks to Matterhorn for allowing me to come down and point my camera at awesome bands! Keep up with their shows at www.matterhornuk.com
