Mogwai – 1st February 2018 – Northumbria Institute
My first gig of the year after a rather quiet winter due to illness and lack of gigs! I couldn’t have asked for a better gig to make my return. I’ve been a fan since I first heard Tracy on a Total Guitar CD back in 97/98 ish. I’d never heard anything like it.
Since then they’ve innovated like no other instrumental act, each album growing and diversifying the Mogwai sound.
We were treated to a great, but compact 90-minute set. With new songs rubbing shoulders with back catalogue classics very nicely.
- Crossing the Road Material
- I’m Jim Morrison, I’m Dead
- Party in the Dark
- New Paths to Helicon, Pt. 1
- Ithica 27ø9
- Rano Pano
- Battered at a Scramble
- Every Country’s Sun
- Don’t Believe the Fife
- Mogwai Fear Satan
- Old Poisons
- I Know You Are But What Am I?
- We’re No Here
It’s the stuff of dreams to be able to photo the band. I feel really honoured 🙂 Not surprisingly I got carried away, so here’s loads and loads of photos. Enjoy 🙂
